The 5S block does require some changes to install.
You will need an ATS MLS 5SGTE head gasket.
All holes for MR2 brackets are drilled and tapped, but the block will need to be modified to fit an All-Trac transfer case.
The turbo oil feed is not present on the 5S. We drill, tap, and install a -4 AN fitting in the same location as the 3S.
The oil cooler setup is different on the 5S. We include an oil cooler delete stud, so the filter will screw straight onto the block. Gen3, 4, 5 applications should source a Gen5 block-off plate. Most cars do not benefit from the stock oil cooler. It is more of an oil warmer intended for colder climates, and street cars don't put much heat into the oil. Good oil such as Valvoline VR1 will be fine with no oil cooler and light track use. If you're pushing it hard for extended periods, the stock cooler wouldn't have cut it anyway. You may install a remote oil cooler, or source a water pump, coolant pipes, hoses, and oil cooler from a 93-95 NA MR2. Never reuse an oil cooler from a damaged or questionable motor, as they hold onto material and will release it into your fresh motor. While we're on the topic, be weary of powder coating valve covers. Sand blasting media can get trapped in the baffles, and find its way into your motor, wreaking havoc. The baffles must be removed, cleaned thoroughly, and resealed.
Your stock water pump will work! We include 2 caps for your oil cooler ports.
