Parts to delete the oil cooler from a Gen 2, 3, 4 3SGTE or 5SFE block. Includes caps for coolant lines.
Toyota fits these primarily as oil warmers for colder climates. An oil cooler is unnecessary for street and light track use. Track cars can opt to add a sandwich plate for an external oil cooler.
Furthermore, used oil coolers are one of the leading causes of failure on a new motor. They trap debris from the old motor, and cannot be cleaned thoroughly enough to not contaminate a new motor.
Gen 2 application is a stud that installs into the factory oil cooler stand, allowing the filter to screw directly to it. This also fits Gen 3, but the Gen 3 has the oil filter on the pan. Gen 3 would ideally get a bypass, which we will consider offering if enough interest is shown.
Gen 4, 5, and 5SFE blocks have 2 options:
For those running a Gen2 or Moroso pan, we have a stud that screws in and allows the filter to mount directly to the block.
If running a Gen 3, 4, or 5 oil pan, we have a reproduction of the Gen5 oil cooler bypass plate. This allows oil to pass right through, as these have the oil filter on the upper oil pan. Includes new OEM bolt and seals.
